July 9, 2024, Moscow – The Moscow Exchange hosted a practical and insightful closed seminar titled "IPO for Technology Companies: The Path to Going Public". The participants engaged in discussions that were not just theoretical, but also focused on best practices for preparing companies for an IPO, factors for successful listings, as well as the challenges and opportunities in the Russian stock market.
Natalya Loginova, Director of the Issuer Relations Department at the Moscow Exchange, moderated the meeting. Alexey Kupriyanov, Director of Aspring Capital, presented "IPOs for Technology Companies: High Valuations vs Sustainability." Other esteemed participants in the discussion included Denis Korablev, Managing Director of Positive Group, and Anton Ustimenko, a Partner at B1 Group of Companies.
During his speech, Alexey shared his perspective on the current valuations of technology sector players and discussed the factors for successful offerings, including a well-structured marketing strategy, a strong equity story, and attracting institutional investors to achieve long-term stock price stability.
Alexey also highlighted the current opportunities and limitations of the Russian stock market, noting the potentially high interest of institutional investors in participating in pre-IPO and IPO deals and the significant amount of individual funds currently held in deposits. Among the challenges for the market, Alexey pointed out the high key interest rate and the need for more extensive tech company listings.
